The first version of KSIC was developed to secure the accuracy and comparability of industry-related data.
The KSIC was based on the International Standard Industrial Classification (ISIC) adopted by the UN.

○ Principal activity in integrated type (vertical, horizontal) of industrial activity
- Application of KSIC
○ Statistical purpose : establishment census, household survey, population census etc.
